ABOUT ME

My work consists of installation pieces and concepts that create unique and interactive experiences.

My design projects blend themes of urbanisation and human computer interaction. They are centered around transport engineering and economics, electronics and human-centred, experimental product design approaches. My work always aims to be critical, reflective and appropriate to its context. In particular, I am hoping to provoke new ways of experiencing our built environment.

In my sculptural pieces I use scale, shifting proportions and simple interactions to carefully induce receptiveness in the viewer or participant. My paintings and illustrations are more inward-facing, exploring creative processes.

I am working towards my PhD in Industrial Engineering at Stellenbosch University. Provisional title: Critical Making, Critical Niches: co-design for energy transitions and living labs in South Africa.
